During the period from 1914 to 1962, this department was named as Consulting Surveyor to Government. The Directorate of Town Planning and Valuation has been in existence since the year 1962 and the head office of the Directorate is located at Central Building, Pune.
The Directorate prepares land use plans for urban as well as rural areas of the state. Also valuation of immovable property for the state, preparation of annual rate tables etc. Valuation works are done.
सन 1914 ते 1962 या कालावधीत या विभागाचे नामाभिधान कन्सल्टिंग सर्व्हेअर टू गव्हर्नमेंट असे होते. सन 1962 पासून नगर रचना आणि मूल्यनिर्धारण संचालनालय अस्तित्वात आले असून, संचालनालयाचे मुख्य् कार्यालय मध्यवर्ती इमारत, पुणे येथे आहे.
संचालनालयातर्फे राज्यातील नागरी तसेच ग्रामीण क्षेत्रासाठी जमीन वापर योजना बनविण्यात येतात. तसेच राज्यासाठी अचल मालमत्तेचे मूल्यनिर्धारण करणे, वार्षिक मूल्यदर तक्ते बनविणे इ. मूल्यनिर्धारण विषयक कामे करण्यात येतात.
